Key Facts

The ward lies to the south of the Borough divided by the A21 and A232 roads with excellent road links to the M25, Town Centres of Bromley, Orpington and Croydon. Within a short distance there is Orpington B.R. Station and a Bus Terminal. To the south the London Biggin Hill Airport.

In Locksbottom is sited the Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) that was opened in 2003 by her Royal Highness Princess Anne.

There are a number of small shopping parades within the ward situation at, Locksbottom, Crofton Lane, Kelvin Parade, Tile Farm Avenue and Farnborough Village

Farnborough Village is some what unique in retaining its old charm of village life and part being a conservation area.

In Farnborough & Crofton there are a number of open spaces namely Sparrows Wood, Roundabout Wood, Darrick and Newstead Woods, Tugmutton Common and Crofton Heath. The area also benefits by having a number of inside and outside sports and recreation facilities and within easy reach to the High Elms Golf Course.

The area is renowned for its long standing history by having the remains of a Roman Villa in Crofton Road, nearby Caesar’s Camp in Keston and Darwin’s House in Downe. In addition there are a number of Churches of various denominations.

Within Farnborough & Crofton there are a number of well supported restaurants, fast food outlets and public houses.

There are a large number of nursery, primary and senior schools in the area and consists of:-
